
Kathleen, who serves as Senior Advisor to TNE, spent thirty years as a clinical social worker in the Washington, DC area. During that time she gained extensive experience working with and leading programs to serve at risk families and youth across the metropolitan area. She served in a range of positions with the National Children’s Center, College Park Youth and Family Services, Children’s National Medical Center, Sasha Bruce Youthwork and elsewhere. In 2008, Kathleen founded Design for Change, an interior design consultancy that serves families and individuals navigating life transitions.
As part of this adventure Kathleen has provided critical design support to Open Arms Housing, a D.C. based non-profit providing housing for homeless women experiencing mental illness, and Survivors and Advocates for Empowerment (SAFE), also a D.C. based non-profit providing transitional living facilities for victims of domestic violence. Most recently she has had the opportunity to create three sensory room transformations through the auspices of The Make-A-Wish Foundation.
